This page explains how to request the deletion of a Brainlocity account and what happens to the associated data. Brainlocity is operated by María Laura Rodríguez Paredes. For help, write to [email protected].
1. Ways to delete your account
- From the app: open Profile or Settings, go to the account option and select “Delete my account”. Follow the confirmation instructions.
- From the web: use the official resource available at https://legal.brainlocity.com/account-deletion.html.
- By email: write to [email protected] from the email associated with your account requesting deletion.
We may ask for reasonable verification of identity or account access before carrying out the deletion to prevent fraudulent or unauthorized requests. Where legally applicable, a parent or guardian may submit a request regarding a minor user.
2. Data that is deleted or unlinked
When a valid deletion is processed, Brainlocity deletes or unlinks from its active systems, as applicable, the information it no longer needs, which may include:
- Brainlocity account, profile, age category and authentication data.
- Progress, courses, exercises, scores, streaks and other learning data linked to the account.
- Active sessions and directly linked access records that are no longer needed.
- Notification tokens and records or devices linked to the account that are no longer needed.
- Identifiable operational and diagnostic records linked to the account, except for a security or legal exception.
- Premium entitlements or internal associations that are no longer needed to provide the Service.
3. Data that may be kept after the account is deleted
Deleting an account does not require erasing information that Brainlocity must or needs to keep legally for an additional period. This may include:
- Limited records of purchases, transactions, taxes, accounting or refunds.
- Information needed to prevent fraud, abuse, chargebacks or security incidents, or to enforce legal rights.
- Records needed to comply with an order or legal obligation or to defend a claim.
- Aggregated or reasonably de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies the user.
- Data that a third party must keep under its own obligations and policies, for example Apple, Google or Hotmart.
4. Backups
After information is deleted from active systems, some copies may remain temporarily in protected backups until they are overwritten or deleted according to the normal backup cycle. These copies are kept for disaster recovery and continuity, are not used to provide the Service normally and remain subject to the applicable security measures.
5. Voice and audio
Pronunciation recordings are normally not part of the account deletion process because Brainlocity deletes them immediately after processing each exercise is complete. The answer recognized from the transcription is kept only while the level is in progress, is deleted when the level is completed or restarted and is not kept as user content.
6. Age and ineligible accounts
If Brainlocity determines that a person under 13 used the Service or created an account, it may block access and delete the personal data that there is no legal obligation to keep. Requests related to a minor user may require reasonable verification of the identity and authority of the parent or guardian submitting them.
7. Subscriptions
Deleting your Brainlocity account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. If you have an active subscription, cancel its renewal on the same payment platform. For Hotmart purchases or subscriptions, the process and terms shown by Hotmart and Brainlocity for the corresponding purchase apply.
8. Partial deletion requests
When applicable law grants you that right, you can request the deletion or correction of certain data without deleting the whole account. Write to [email protected] and identify the information your request is about. We may require identity verification and explain whether there is a legal obligation to keep any data.
